Lamella Fire Breaks

U-Spec Lamella Fire Breaks are manufactured from non-combustible mineral wool, and typically supplied in strip form in 200mm widths and 1200mm lengths, in a variety of thicknesses.

Application

U-Spec Lamella Fire Breaks are intended for use in External Wall Insulation (EWI) applications, where the main fabric insulation is a foam plastic insulant, such as XPS. They are typically used horizontally at each floor level where Building Regulations demand a fire break, and installed with the plane of the fibres at right angles to the plane of the wall. This provides improved compression resistance as an aid to subsequent over-rendering.
