Thermal/Acoustic Laminates
U-Spec provides a fabrication and converting service in the insulation industry - converting or altering standard-spec production-line insulation products to a format in tune with specific end user requirements. We work with all types of products, glass and rock insulation, foam plastics & polyethylene foam, ceramic fibres & many other insulation types. In addition, we have experience working with a range of building boards, such as cement particle and similar boards.
LAMINATION
Any insulant to any rigid board, for example thermal laminates, soffit liners, cold store panels etc.
ENCAPSULATION
Ceiling pads and loft insulation totally enclosed in polythene or other covering, such as tissue or aluminium foil.
FACING AND COVERING
Insulation slabs or rolls, pipe sections, decorative acoustic wall panels – all with any covering – normally tissue, aluminium foil, or glass fabric.
CUTTING AND SHAPING
Anything cut to size & shape (vertical, horizontal, angular) - trapezoidal wedges, bevelled lags, lamella fire breaks (for EWI applications)
CUTTING AND SLOTTING
For example, slotted phenolic boards to bend round curved surfaces.
ROUTING AND TONGUE-AND-GROOVING
Also routing, tongue-and-grooving etc.
SANDING
Typically mineral wool slabs to provide a smooth surface, or tight-tolerance thicknesses.
